Formed all the way back in 1870, the Unley Mercedes Jets are an amateur football club based in Kingswood, SA.
With multiple premierships under their belts accrued over the years, the club has solidified itself as a powerhouse within the Adelaide Footy League.
We were approached by the Jets to refresh and modernise their existing branding while acknowledging club history, existing iconography and their strong values.
Integrating elements from the pre-existing Jets branding was an essential part of the project from the beginning.
We addressed this through maintaining a colour palette that leant on blue, black, white and grey - colours already synonymous with the club. The well known ‘jet’ icon was redeveloped and simplified as a bold silhouette to be more unique, timeless and adaptable to a multitude of different applications.
A new logotype was paired with the refreshed jet logo to reinforce the strength, power and size of the club whilst maintaining a level of recognisability when seen on social media, signage and merchandise.

The refreshed Jets branding was applied and reinforced throughout the club’s many different touchpoints including their social media, EDMs, website, signage and merchandise.
Our newly designed merchandise for the Unley Jets resulted in a 25% boost in sales from the previous year.
To ensure the new branding was used correctly and consistently, we built and supplied easy-to-use, branded social media templates to the club.
To contribute to the club’s social media content we captured photo content of the players posing in their new merchandise, and in action during training sessions.
These photos, combined with the social media templates gave an elevated feel to the club’s social media feed and in turn encouraged more engagement and buy-in from fans, players and volunteers.
With the Jets website in serious need of a makeover, we built a brand new site with a keen focus on cultivating community, improve accessibility and display information in a more engaging way.
A key feature of the new website is the events and matches page which gives visitors an easy way to check game times, locations and club event schedules. We also re-worked how the merch portal was integrated with the website to make it easier to find and more appealing with stronger calls to action and strategic UI design.
